December 15, 2016 - Sunrise at the Palmer Municipal Airport

Summer 2016 - Life Med Alaska is often seen and uses the Warren “Bud” Woods, Palmer Municipal Airport regularly to pick up or drop off patience to and from area hospitals. They also regularly fuel up or use the airport as a secondary landing spot if Anchorage International is too difficult due to weather concerns.

June 23, 2016 - Lt. Commander David Shook and crew with their C130 from the USCG out of their home base in Kodiak, flew into Palmer in between training exercises to have lunch. Nate Wallace, City Manager was there to greet them and arranged for the Crew to use his City vehicle to get back and forth from the Palmer Municipal Airport and the Palmer City Ale House.

June 16 to 19, 2016 - Hosted by the Alaska Skydive Center, hundreds of jumps were made by sky diving enthusiast at the annual “Summer Solstice Boogie” at the Palmer Municipal Airport June 16 thru the 19. Palmer City Councilman, Richard Best with Shannon Jardine and the staff of the Alaska Sky Dive Center, greet attendees of the event in opening ceremonies.

June 4, 2016 - John Lee “principal” with New Horizons Telecommunications Inc. and Chair of the Airport Advisory Commission, hosted the 24th annual FAA “Fly In” and breakfast program. Over 100 people attended the event with numerous pilots flying in to attend. The FAA Fly In program helps to keep the flying public informed about safety topics and new FAA initiatives. The event traditionally happens the first week in June every year. Jeni Hunter with the Palmer Flight Service Station has always been the backbone of the event in helping to make preparations and keep things running smoothly.
