September - Student exchange arrival from Saroma. Japanese students and chaperones will visit the Palmer area for two weeks, staying with local host families and learning about life in the Mat-Su Valley. There will be many opportunities to interact and get to know our visiting friends.
December - During Colony Christmas the Palmer Saroma Kai does a Christmas Origami Cranes folding event. Always held on Colony Christmas Saturday at the Palmer Library from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. Paper cranes are an international symbol of peace and hope and remind us of the Sister City relationship. Enjoy family fun for all ages while making a unique and beautiful origami Christmas crane ornament for your holiday celebration.
