Firefighter Colt Graham

Today, we would like to introduce you to Firefighter / Rescue Technician Colt Graham. Colt was born here in Palmer, Alaska and raised in Eagle River. Colt currently works for the State of Alaska, Division of Juvenile Justice as a Juvenile Probation Officer.

Colt has a wonderful wife (she gives us great advice!) and six year old child. Colt enjoys spending time with his families (PFR and them, especially together when possible), playing games with friends, board games and shooting.

Colt entered the fire service from the “other side”.  He started in public safety twelve years ago. He began his fire service with Palmer Fire & Rescue approximately two years ago. When asked why, Colt said, “I grew up with a feeling that people can do more for their community and help others. I have always wanted to be the person you see helping someone when they are having their worst day. I believe in karma and what you give out is what you likely have coming back to you.”

We wanted to know more and why Colt selected Palmer Fire & Rescue. Colt’s response was, “I started with Palmer Fire & Rescue after it was recommended to me as a way to make a little side money on my schedule. Paid on-call responder sure sounded interesting. It has become so much more. The family of Palmer Fire & Rescue was so welcoming and had such a clear passion about the service they provide to the public, I couldn’t help but fall in love with one of the greatest jobs on the planet.
