Interlibrary Loan

Patrons are limited to three (3) ILL requests at one time.

The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service is free, unless the lending library requires a fee (most do not). If there is a fee, we will contact you before placing the request. ILL materials are filled from outside the ALC system, which means it could come from anywhere in the U.S. If the item is available in our card catalog we will not request it as an ILL.

Please check the card catalog to make sure that the item is not in the ALC (Alaska Library Catalog) system before you submit a request. You may place a hold on most items in the card catalog by logging in with your library card number (no spaces) and PIN. If you do not know your PIN, use the Reset Password/PIN link on the Online Library Account login form or contact the library at (907) 745-4690. PINs are case sensitive.

On average, ILLs take 2-3 weeks to arrive in the mail. Additional time may be required for processing.
