Mayor & Council Members
The City Council is composed of a Mayor and six Council Members elected in October with three-year terms.
Meetings
Regular City Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. Periodically, the City Council holds Special Meetings. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers located at 231 W. Evergreen Avenue. Entrance may be gained through the glass door on the Cobb Street side of the building.

Steve Carrington first served the city of Palmer from October 2001 until October 2005. He was re-elected in 2013 and has been serving since. He was re-elected as Deputy Mayor in October 2021 but will be filling the role of Mayor until October 2022 as Edna DeVries won the Borough election for Mayor and has resigned as Palmer Mayor. |

Carolina was appointed to the Council in January of 2021. She is the manager of a local coffee shop and is active in her local church. Carolina enjoys music, reading, writing, hiking the local mountain ranges, and most recently, learning cross country skiing. She is currently attending Liberty University's online program and working toward a degree in government, economics, and philosophy. Carolina is committed to preserving the Palmer community's welcoming and prosperous atmosphere and representing its citizens well. |

Appointed in 2022, John has a long history in Palmer and the surrounding area. John returned to the city of Palmer with his wife Rosetta and four children (Neillan, Almeria, Brodie and Te’Shya) in 2004. John currently works for the Alaska Job Corps Center in Palmer where he serves as the Business and Community Liaison. John has served on numerous Board of Directors, including the American Red Cross, the Mat-Su Miners, Palmer High Swim and Dive Club, Palmer Museum and Palmer Church of God. |

Jim has lived in Palmer for 28 years. He was a former Planning and Zoning Commissioner, former Palmer City Councilman and Palmer Mayor. He was also a former President of the Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce. He was a small business owner, and was Chairman of the Palmer Community Development Task Force, Co-chair of the Palmer Pride Committee and Palmer Citizen of the Year. |

Elected in 2021, Pamela's career expands over 19 years of experience in business development, market expansion, and relationship management across Alaska with fortune 5000 companies. She also owns a small consulting firm that has been placed on hold while she serves as the Partnering Manager for PSJH Telehealth across the Alaska and Oregon Regions. She grew up in Palmer and has most recently served on the Planning and Zoning Commission. She loves her hometown, building lifelong friendships, celebrating community and fostering growth for businesses. |

Josh has lived in Palmer for over 15 years and is raising his family of three children. He received an MBA in 2013 and owns a small I.T. company in Palmer. He recently served on the Panning and Zoning Commission. He loves to hike, ski, and fish, and is active in his church. Josh loves to work to ensure that Palmer grows while maintaining it's welcoming culture and traditions. |
