Steve Carrington first served the city of Palmer from October 2001 until October 2005. He was re-elected in 2013 and has been serving since. He was re-elected as Deputy Mayor in October 2021 but will be filling the role of Mayor until October 2022 as Edna DeVries won the Borough election for Mayor and has resigned as Palmer Mayor.
