This event not only filled our souls with the beautiful music from around the world but it also raised money for library programs, books, technology and other needs.
Thank you to all the wonderful people who made this event possible! The Matsu Orchestra for performing an incredible concert. The Friends who baked cookies, set up chairs, handed out programs, and stayed to clean up. The community who came out to fill the depot and fill up our donation box! Thank you, thank you!
Thank you everyone for coming to our first Saturday Storytime. A very special thank you to Sergeant Szipszky for reading Where the Wild Things Are and a Star Wars book! He answered some tough questions from the kids and happily posed with them for a Polaroid picture!

What a great event! Thank you Alaska Celtic Pipes and Drums and everyone who came out! We had over 150 in our little library and it was just the perfect way to end Colony Christmas!

The Friends of the Library held their annual Basket Silent Auction. There was something for everyone~ Art, Crafts, Horses, Classical Music, Tea, and more! Once again we were amazed at the generosity of our community in the donation of beautiful and creative baskets full of goodies, and those who bid to take those baskets home! The valley's premier percussion group, Matanuska Beat, performed for about 45 minutes, then the audience was able to participate in playing the instruments. Matanuska Beat is directed by Dr. Meggie Aube, owner of Percussion in the Valley.
The Friends of the Library also cooked up some whimsical fun in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday! Community members donated delicious gluten free cookies, and other goodies for refreshments.
